@ARTV-3 years ago The album event of the decade? Eh, not so much 🥱
But hey, it's Adele, we gotta talk about "30" because it certainly gave me something to talk about!

@IlChimicoCinefilo3 years ago I disagree on this. I personally like 30 much more than 25, I feel like it flows better and tells an actual story from beginning to end while 25, even though I liked it, didn't really work as far as how the tracklist was put together and it had some songs that did not work at all like "I miss you" and "sweetest devotion". "Strangers by nature" and "love is a game" are the perfect album opener and closer, also "to be loved" and "hold on" are some of the best songs in her discography in my opinion. I'm not even sure about the fact that since Adele tends to release an album every 5/6 years people tend to be less critical towards her. I think it's quite the opposite since people had such high expections for her comeback. I quite agree that "can I get it" is the worst song on the album but I still like it more than send my love. ... 64

@desmondho82642 years ago I’m too disagree on this. I feel like 30 is her most honest, raw and venerable album. I feel like this album resonate to me because I also grew up from a separated family and I totally understand her situation. 11

@Stefan_Gerards3 years ago for me 21 is always going to be her best and most cohesive album, followed by 25 >> 32

@theiammike1233 years ago Hans Zimmer is one of Adele's influences. That's why some of the 6-min songs outro'd like movie soundtracks. A bit too long for some listeners, but made sense at least to me because I thought 30 sounded pretty cinematic and theatrical. 🥰 ... 5

@BGWee3 years ago Finally an honest review, I feel much of the media are too scared to criticise anything she does. 21 was great, but like most of 25, this was another snoozefest but even more so, with most of the songs really not justifying being sooooo long. ... 14

@DeathMachineJoe3 years ago I'm honestly a bit surprised with how much critical acclaim this album is getting by most music publications. It could obviously be due to how long we had to wait for it, but I found 30 to be pretty average at best. It has a few great songs, but the album drags on a bit too long and the production is pretty inconsistent most of the time. I feel Adele needs to at least have one producer, so she can create a more focused album in the future. Maybe even with more interesting music as well. ... 15

@AnneettaLife3 years ago I have to completely agree with you on this. I really did try to like this album, but the long songs were boring and short songs were basic. I was really surprised by a few people who reacted to this album and gave it an honest review of how this album was just ok, especially since everybody likes to act like Adele can do no wrong. ... 20

@lorddoritus63733 years ago Adele has a fantastic voice and she still delivers here. It's just that because of how long some of the songs are, it's seriously exhausting to get through, and some really questionable production choices that were made here get grating. Don't get me wrong this album is decent, but is it worthy of the high critic scores? No, not really. ... 21

@intelligencecycle35233 years ago Adele definitely is one of the better singers in the modern generation. 19, 21 is her best work including Songwriting concepts production songs like Someone like You Rolling in the deep, set fires to the rain, he won’t go are good examples. 25 still solid! This one ima be honest this is a step down cause it doesn’t flourish onto new ideas, the production felt so rapidly grading at times which made me check out. Strangers by nature, Easy on me, I drink wine, Love is a game are great records but it has it shortcomings plethora of moments that dims the quality. ... 6

@tombrowne12513 years ago At first I thought it was just ok but after a few spring I'm blown away with 30.Brillant song writing and production with amazing vocals.

@zorik60533 years ago I feel like the writing in the album is great, like the lyrics are well written and I feel that it is cohesive in that sense, but it's missing what makes Adele albums great: strong hooks. Other than 'Easy on me', there aren't many stand out hooks (although there are some) like the best tracks on 25 and practically all of 21 (her best album by far, in my opinion). I don't know, this is a hard one because I do think the writing is great and it's got enough moments, but it's just not there for me. Strong 6/10. (25 is a 7/10 and 21 is a solid 9/10 for me. Can't opine on 19 because it's been too long since I listened to it in full) ... 32

  • @
@pantitapalittapongarnpim15812 years ago I would probably give her a little higher than 3, but I do agree with your review. In general, I feel like the songs were under polished sonically, which works very well for some of the tracks like "My Little Love". But when the entire album sounds like that, they just don't gel together. The songs really should just be listened to independent of one another (and even then...) ... 1

@takemyhand19883 years ago I feel two ballads could be cut down. And the chorus of can I get it and cry your heart out could be changed.
The album otherwise sounds very unique and great

@lotusmiragemusic3 years ago Somehow, I can never emotionally connect or cry to Adele's music. Not sure if it's the lyrical content and style (which feel one-dimensional and generic most of the time), the production, or the vocal delivery, but her music doesn't strike a chord or enthrall me in any way. I guess it's just personal taste...Anyways, I respect her craft, but it's not my cup of tea ... 9

@CameronMcKee3 years ago I think it might be my favorite album of hers so far. Her last album lost me because I was kinda over the whole "singing as loud as I can to be impressive" phase. I love this toned down, emotional album. It just feels so cozy like old Disney movies to me. The 6 min songs def could've been chopped down a minute or two tho ... 2

@freeyoungthug49653 years ago When you think of an adele track something grande, emotional almost chilling came to mind. Wou think of adele singing her ass off and it resulting in a big unique listening experience. With that record 90% of songs are like "eh it's just your average pop/singer songwriter cut" and that's my biggest issue with the record. ... 3

@heekamalokilo71943 years ago The Ellie Goulding mention caught me off guard haha... I wasn't expecting her to be mentioned on this channel again. 😅 I do agree about the production on "Oh My God". It reminds me of "Only You" by Ellie. And the whistling on "Can I Get It" reminds me of "Keep On Dancin'". I was underwhelmed by "30" overall but there are tracks that I do like a lot. ... 3

@clashzboih85323 years ago i know this is unrelated to the video, but why didn't you review Red (Taylor's Version)? i get that it's the same album as the version from 10 years ago, but it'd be cool to see you make a video discussing the 2nd half of the album, which is all new songs from the vault. ... 6

@123rockfan3 years ago I’m so torn on this album. I think 30 has a great set of songs in theory, but I just can’t stand the production. The random whistling, electronic flourishes, and awkward background vocals reminds me a lot of AJR and Imagine Dragons ... 15

@tariqthomas90903 years ago I thought All Night Parking was one of the stronger entries. It’s a nice sensual neo-soul cut. One of my favorites, along with To Be Loved, Strangers By Nature, Love Is A Game, and Cry Your Heart Out.
I think this album is a bit of a grower. It’s old motown, jazz, and classical influences might not be everyone’s cup of tea. You definitely need to be in the mood for it.

@sarahgawlak63063 years ago I love Adele both as a person and obviously a vocalist...but I was fairly disappointed by this album. I was so hyped after hearing Easy On Me, but that ended up being one of if not THE BEST off the album. There's definitely a few songs that stand out that I enjoy, but overall the album itself seems messy, as you said. ... 7

@LuckyLuke78953 years ago Yeah it’s not her best album as a whole in terms of consistency, but it’s hard to call anything of hers that bad. That voice is incredible. I Drink Wine and Love is a Game are probably my favourites. 11

@HedgehogDude183 years ago I don’t normally listen to this kind of singer/songwriter pop stuff, but I thought I’d give it a shot with an open mind. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t really get into it. I felt like I was falling asleep by the 3rd song. Not knocking on the people that do like this kind of stuff, just couldn’t get into it myself. ... 1

@iliketrains34953 years ago I don't know what it is about Adele, I liked a lot of the singles from 21, Rolling In The Deep, Someone Like You and especially Set Fire To The Rain and Rumour Has It but for some reason I've never been a fan of anything after 21 (though I've only heard a few since then, with Easy on Me being the only one I've heard from this album, and I'm not a fan of it).
Also I agree with everything you said about critics overhyping the fuck out of her. And not just critics - guitar companies have been publicising it (to a shit ton of criticism on Facebook) and Rick Beato was bumming off the lead single in a recent video just because it "doesn't sound like everything else in the charts". At least a lot of the memes that have come out of the Adele hype have been pretty funny

@ApOlEnKaaas3 years ago Wow I must say I'm pretty surprised by this review. For me it's such a powerful album. I love how groovy and different she got. I still can't believe the vulnerability and all the lyrics. It's heartbreaking and beautiful. It's probably my favourite album of Adele because how unafraid she is to just put the songs out here. 21 is still a masterpiece but it's a bit too predictable compared to 30. ... 7

@jevoncarballo60273 years ago I agree with this review...25 is the stronger album...it did things musically I didn’t think would be done by an artists in this generation 1
  • @
@vovabarnard61743 years ago I think 30 is thematically cohesive and the message is there. It’s also in my personal opinion sonically cohesive as well. Although, that being said, those 6 mins songs could’ve been cut down to at least 3-4 honestly! I think if they were, I would’ve enjoyed this also a lot more! 25 is still superior! ... 12

@lotusmiragemusic3 years ago Can you review Taylor Swift's Red (Taylor's Version)? "Nothing New" (one of the From The Vault tracks) is one of her best songs ever IMO. And "All Too Well (10-Minute Version)" is a storytelling masterpiece ahhh ... 4

@nilufaryasmin89203 years ago Her worst album yet. 21 is still her best work. 2
  • @
@matthewvillegas36223 years ago I can agree that this album is a bit lacking in the hooks department, and that a few of the songs are just too long, and that keeps the album from being great for me. However, I heavily disagree with your overall stance on the album I believe it is a good record nonetheless. I don’t think it’s boring (like half of Lana’s discography) cause I think her voice is strong enough to make up for a lot of the moments where it does slug on, at least for me. I can also appreciate the vulnerability that’s on a level we’ve never seen from her before. Understandable that this is not everyone’s cup of tea though. ... 2

@brennancampbell39173 years ago I feel like the variety on this album kind of works against it. Prime example of "Too much of a good thing" imho ... 2

@zobothehobo3 years ago i completely agree that if seems and feels as if people are not willing to look at adele through the same lens they look at others through. when she broke out with 21, so much of the talk and buzz around her placed her in "instant legend" status especially as she was compared to other popular female artists at the time. the idea that the other female artists were silly and adele was "real music" was abounding. 25 was a lower quality album than 21, but it was still heralded and oh my god those sales!! with 30, it's her weakest album with most of it feeling like empty walmart music to me... inoffensive enough while it's there but completely forgettable. but the problem is adele was handed the title of "legend" before she proved she deserved it. and so people go with it... despite this album just not being there. ... 9

Don't get me wrong I love songs like To be loved and My little love, songs like Oh My God and Cry your heart out are just catchy and fun to listen to but I can easily find from another artist. But I will say this, These are some the best vocal performances I've heard from Adele. ...

  • @
@zaiah92523 years ago I’m gonna have to respectfully disagree with some of these takes. I agree that the album could’ve been shaven off a bit but I like how Adele dared to do different sounds. I like how Cohesive the album is as I feel like it was actually a story that was told. It felt ambitious. Not a perfect album and I wouldn’t say it’s her best but I enjoyed how the album was narratively and emotionally consistent and creative with the production and vocals compare to her other albums. At least we both agree we’re positive with the album 👌🏾. ... 3

@SRX2004last year I just received the clear vinyl album. I really like Adele but this isn't for me. Too sad and morose. Also why is this on 2 albums? Each side only has 3 songs with a lot of empty space. Not sure why this couldn't be on one album. The first side of the 2nd album skipped in several places. This is getting returned as soon as possible. ...

@josephlucas853 years ago The crazy thing is it’s not that the album is long. Most of these Albums that come out in this generation are short. It be a 20 track album and be no more than 42 minutes long. Back in the Day of the late 90s and early 2000s 10 track albums used to top off at about 45 minutes. Anything above that with top off between 50 to 78 minutes. This generations Brain can’t handle an album that’s over 40 minutes long. If it’s over three minutes it’s considered long to this generation. Back in the late 90s and early 2000s songs could be 4-7 minutes long and it wasn’t an issue. This generation wants everything fast and now. And God for bid an artist takes two years to put out an album or even a year they’re complaining that the artist is taking too long to drop an album. But when I was growing up an artist could take 2 to 3 years to put out an album and it really wasn’t an issue. Because there was so many artists out that it was enough artist to listen to in between waiting for the artist that you wanted to drop another album. Also when I was growing up an artist kaput out a song and the song would rule the charts for around three months to two months before they would have to put out another single. So literally the artist could stretch an album for almost 2 years. Now the artist of this generation are putting a song out almost every couple weeks. Because again this generations attention span is very small. Don’t listen to the target edition version because it’s close to 70 minutes long. 😂🤷🏾‍♂️ ... 4
