The World Is My Oyster - Episode 2

In this week’s episode of "The World Is My Oyster”, I am pleased to bring you face to face with PECOSIAN Atul Karwal, IPS. In his 32 years of service as a police officer, he has been awarded dozens of Medals and various Commendation Rolls and Insignias by the Heads of Police Organisations. He served for two years as Inspector General, Central Reserve Police Force in Srinagar in 2015-16, commanding 20,000 troops and led two operations personally against terrorists. He was awarded Police Medals for Gallantry for both, this year. He was heading Shri Narendra Modi’s security as Gujarat C.M. and has come in for rare praise from the P.M. himself last fortnight. Atul is an adventure sports enthusiast and fitness buff, par excellence. The first Civil Services Officer to scale the Mount Everest in 2008, he has completed Ultramarathon, a Half Ironman Triathlon, earned a First Degree Black Belt in Martial Arts, won a medal in the All India Police Equestrian Meet, completed the 12 week Police Commando Course with the National Security Guard (NSG) and is a trained Scuba Diver and Skydiver.
