Restuarant Style Dal Khichdi Recipe
Ingredients for 2 serving
Soak & dals for 30 minutes
Rice (raw rice) – ½ cup
Tour dal – 2 tbsp
Chana dal – 2 tbsp
Masoor dal – 2 tbsp
To boil dals and rice for 3 whistles in a pressure cooker
Ghee – 1 tbsp
Cumin seed – 1 tsp
Ginger slices – ½ inch
Green chili – 1-2 piece
Green peas – ½ cup
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Water – double amount of the rice & dal
To tempering the dal khichdi
Mustard oil – 2-3 tbsp
Cumin seed – 1 tsp
Bay leaf – 2 piece
Green chili – 2 piece
Ginger slice – 1 tsp
Garlic (chopped) – 1 tbsp
Onion slice – 1 large size
Tomato – 1 medium size
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
Sugar – 1 tsp
Hing powder – ¼ tsp
Water – 3-4 tbsp
Coriander leaves – 2-3 tbsp
1. After soaking the dal and rice boil them in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles.
2. Now make the tempering and then pour the boiled rice and dal into it.
3. Add little water if required, then cook the khichdi for 5 minutes.
4. Switch off the gas and add some coriander leaves on top and mix it.
5. Serve it hot with ghee on top and your restaurant style dal khichdi is ready. Enjoy
