SOY SAUCE?! Yep you heard that right. Here’s how I flipped this mahogany Kroehler mid century modern dresser 👇🏼
+ applied kwikwood epoxy putty to broken veneer
+ sanded everything down with 120 grit
+ used my @harttoolsusa multi tool with sander attachment to get into the hard to reach places
+ applied 1 coat of low sodium soy sauce with a lint free cloth
+ fixed repairs with blendal sticks, sealed with Mohawk EZ vinyl sealer
+ sealed it all up with mohawk semi-gloss lacquer!

@yland60037 months agoIt looks soo good!! I make wood perches for my pet birds so I’m always looking for pet safe wood stains! I don’t know how you sanded the veneer, but I have a tip that other people don’t talk about in their restoration videos. Veneer is super thin, so it’s better to start sanding at a medium-high grit. 100 grit on a sander could eat half the veneer in couple passes. So for longevity, start with a finer grit that’s just barely good enough. I’m sure pieces with “original veneer” make more money. ...2
